What this paper is
Mock Exam 2 is the second full-length practice paper for the FPSC MCQ-based Preliminary Test. It shares no questions with Mock Exam 1 — it is a separate set of 200 questions at the same weightage, one mark each, no negative marking, 200 minutes, passing at 33% (66 marks).
| Section | Questions |
|---|---|
| General Abilities — quantitative, analytical and mental reasoning | 60 |
| English | 50 |
| General Knowledge — Everyday Science, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs | 50 |
| Islamic Studies (Civics & Ethics for non-Muslim candidates) | 20 |
| Urdu — grammar, usage and translation | 20 |
| Total | 200 |
This one is for measuring progress
The first paper tells you where you are. This one tells you whether the work you did in between changed anything, and that only holds if the two attempts are comparable.
- Sit it the same way — one sitting, no notes, full 200 minutes.
- Leave a real gap after Mock 1. A week is about right; the same afternoon measures short-term memory, not preparation.
- Compare section by section rather than total to total. A total can stay flat while English improves and reasoning slips, and only the section view shows that.
If you are signed in, both attempts sit side by side on your My Progress page, which is the easiest way to see the change.
Reading the result
A score comfortably above 66 means the screening test is not where your remaining preparation time belongs. In the CSS 2022 MPT, 48,787 of 49,038 candidates qualified — a pass rate of 99.50% — while the CSS 2025 written examination passed 2.77%. The MPT filters almost nobody; the written papers filter almost everybody.
A score near or below the line is worth acting on, because failing removes you from that cycle entirely. Use the section breakdown to find where the marks went rather than revising everything again.
Practical notes
Answers save automatically as you go, so a refresh or a dropped connection resumes the same attempt with the remaining time intact. Every question gets a full explanation after you submit. Retakes are unlimited and free, and no sign-up is required to sit the paper — signing in only means the score is kept.
